Dr. Theodore is a native of Boston and a graduate of both Harvard College and Harvard Medical School. He completed his residency at the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program. He served as the Chief Resident at the Massachusetts General Hospital and later completed a fellowship at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Dr. Theodore’s interests include knee, ankle, and foot surgery, with a focus on work and sports-related injuries . He is a nationally recognized expert in the management of injuries in professional athletes and dancers and has treated some of the top athletes in the United States. He is also an expert in cartilage injuries, ligament injuries, and extracorporeal shockwave treatment. He has appeared on the Today Show, as well as various cable and local television programs. He has been featured in USA Today, The Boston Globe, The Boston Herald, Forbes Magazine, Wall Street Journal, Women’s World, and National Public Radio. He has been named a top orthopedic foot and ankle specialist by Boston Magazine for the past 18 years. He is one of the premier Orthopaedic Surgeons treating sports injuries to the foot and ankle in New England and the country and has treated surgically more Boston professional and collegiate athletes than any other orthopedic surgeon in Boston in the last 25 years. He brings the same abilities, expertise and experience that has made him the top sports injury foot ankle and knee surgeon in Boston and New England to his care of the injured worked.
Dr. Theodore serves as Team Physician for the Boston Red Sox and was part of the medical staff of the 2004, 2007, 2013, and 2018 World Series Championship Teams. He has also worked as a consultant to the New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, Boston College, Harvard University, the New England Revolution, and the Boston Ballet. He is a faculty member of the Massachusetts General Hospital Sports Medicine Fellowship Program and is a Foot and Ankle and Knee Surgeon on the Sports Medicine Service. Dr. Thedore specializes in work and sports-related knee injuries, ankle fractures, complex foot fractures, and injuries to the Achilles tendon.
